Will you help us take up the challenge?
DonatePipal Tree’s Mission is: “To empower the most disadvantaged people in Nepal towards living productive, fulfilling, and healthy lives through improving education, offering training opportunities and by the restoration of the natural environment. We focus primarily on women and girls, the lowest castes, marginalised ethnic groups, and disabled people.”
As a small charity, we are passionate about maximising our impact in Nepal as cost-effectively as possible. We achieve this by collaboration with other international charities, pooling precious resources and expertise to allow a synergistic approach. We agree one another’s responsibilities and then tackle our respective challenges. In Nepal, we work through carefully chosen “implementing partner” organisations since, by Nepalese law, overseas charities cannot implement projects directly.
Nepal is famed internationally for its stunning natural beauty, rich culture and religious significance. Visitors have been touched by the warmth and hospitality of its people, despite often having so little themselves. With the Himalayan glaciers melting and changing weather patterns wreaking havoc in the poorest communities, Nepal is rated at the 9th most climate change-affected country in the world. These proud people now need our help.
In spite of massive operational challenges in Nepal and a tough fundraising climate, we have continued to make great progress in our Nepal programmes.
The pledging process for the Big Give Christmas Appeal has now opened - there has to be a six-month lead in to our major fundraising effort of the year. Can you please join me in making a pledge?
As his annual fundraising challenge for Pipal Tree, the charity's Founder, Philip Holmes, will be taking on the 186-mile coastal path in support of the Lily's Leaves project work in Nepal.
